Landowners

As landowners, your participation and full support is integral to any project we undertake. We know that, often, the land we propose to share may have been in your family for generations. We understand the trust that has been placed in us, and we are committed to the good stewardship of your land throughout the duration of the project.

From the beginning, we take the time to make sure you understand and are comfortable with Pattern's approach to project development, construction and operation. In the design phase, we seek your input on where to put the turbines, making sure that each turbine is located at an appropriate distance from homes and other occupied spaces. During construction, we often improve your existing roads and typically build new ones that you are able to use in the future.

It is important to us that we establish a fair and mutually beneficial long-term partnership with you. Since a typical wind farm of 100 MW is developed on approximately 2,500 to 3,500 acres of land, depending on various factors such as land topography, it generally includes portions of land from several different landowners. We use a uniform agreement that provides for the successful administration of the project and fair treatment for members of the community.

Once a project is operational, our contracts provide landowners with a steady revenue stream. As a result, adapting your property for wind power generation can increase the economic return of your land. Importantly, you can continue to use the land as you see fit - whether it is for farming, raising livestock, hunting, etc.

For the entire operating life of the project, which can last 20 to 40 years or more, we are committed to ensuring that the project is operated in a safe, responsible manner that respects the land and your ongoing use of that land.
