Generated from a pollution-free and inexhaustible natural resource, wind power is an excellent source of clean renewable and domestic energy. Wind's abundant and continuous supply translates into stable production costs for power that is produced with relatively low environmental impact and benefits the economies where Pattern develops its projects. Wind power is a responsible way of addressing our current and future energy needs.
Our Focus
As a company, we are intently focused on building one of the top 10 largest and most durable wind energy portfolios in North America and select countries in Latin America. We are moving forward in a thoughtful and deliberate way, with wind and transmission at the center of our growth strategy.
Since becoming independent in June 2009, Pattern's pipeline of wind assets that are operational or under construction has expanded significantly, easily exceeding our initial goal of developing 300 to 400 MW in our first 18 months. We are currently operating or building over 520 MW of wind projects in North America, and our development pipeline exceeds 4,000 MW.
Scientific Analysis and Technology
The intense scientific analysis we perform and the technological expertise we use to identify and assess potential project sites are a defining aspect of our company. This high level of scrutiny during the earliest stages of project development allows us to make better decisions and dramatically increase our chances of success.
We apply advanced meteorological research and proprietary technology, including in-depth analysis of wind and weather patterns, to more accurately identify sites that will yield the highest performance over the long-term. The data we gather from these analyses help us design project layouts that optimize energy production and allow us to accurately predict site-specific performance early in the process, before significant investment decisions are required.
