Our greatest resource is our people. The Pattern team employs approximately 100 highly skilled scientists, legal and financial professionals, engineers, and construction and operations experts. We are located in San Francisco, Houston, San Diego, New York, and Toronto, and we are all devoted to a common purpose: developing high performance renewable energy and transmission projects.

Our team is fully committed to the success of our business. Management and other employees hold a large equity stake in the company. This ensures that every aspect of Pattern is overseen by enthusiastic, involved stakeholders who are motivated to work hard to produce concrete results.

In 2001, our executive management team started developing wind and transmission projects under a previous employer. A year later, Pattern's management pioneered a financial structure that enabled institutional tax investors to invest efficiently in wind projects developed and owned by companies like Pattern, which had a small tax base. Prior to this new structure, operating assets in the U.S. wind market were owned predominately by utilities - companies that could use the long-term tax benefits (production tax credits). The majority of wind companies in the U.S. followed Pattern's lead and have used the same or a similar financial structure.

By 2003, the team was developing 150-250 MW per year, and within five years, had built over 2,000 MW of wind projects, running one of the fastest growing and most successful wind companies in North America. In that same period, they developed, constructed and acquired independently-owned transmission projects in the United States worth nearly $1 billion.

Pattern Energy Group, which has been independent since June 2009, is on track to continue building upon this success.
